Brittany thinks that it would sound great if she were to say that her time spent abroad provided the foundation for her best writing, but it’s more likely that growing up with the amazing people who work at her local Renaissance Festival probably had more to do with it. She learned a lot about characterization while being someone else for several weekends in a row over the course of several years. She lived, laughed, and loved people who had the wonderful skill of putting  on a different mask depending on the circumstance. She learned to see what else might be going on beneath those masks, and then write it down.
